Sydney on Sunday was on hand yesterday for the launch of DéLonghi’s 2015 range of breakfast appliances. The Butler in Potts Point hosted the event in its breezy, elegant dining area with open doors and spectacular city views. Fresh juice, bircher muesli and salmon, hollandaise & egg sliders were just some of the items keeping me busy inbetween snapping photos and learning about the newly released products!
Autentica Fully Automatic Coffee Machine
Let’s start at the top (and I do mean top)! The Autentica is DéLonghi’s newest fully automatic coffee machine which promises café quality results at the touch of a few buttons. Espresso, soy cappuccino, weak latte, strong long black – the Autentica will do it all and save your favourite settings. There are two new settings: the Doppio+ offers a slow 15g extraction and results in a double shot espresso while the “Long coffee” function provides a full flavoured long coffee. The LatteCrema System has been refined to deliver almost perfect creamier and denser milk.
No matter whether you prefer coffee beans or pre-ground, the Autentica will accomodate. There are 13 customisable grind settings so you can enjoy your coffee exactly how you like it.

I really fell in love with the design and functionality of the Fully Automatic Compact Coffee Machine. Sure, it needs a catchier name but once again with the ability to customise your coffee as short, medium, long, strong, mild, 13 grinder settings, beans or ground and save settings as “My Coffee”, this is an all-in-one wonder machine. You can prepare two cups from a single brewing and the entire device looks absolutely fantastic in person.

Automatic coffee machine presentation
The new Distinta range offers a 2 slice toaster, 4 slice toaster, digital kettle, mechanical kettle, milk frother and pump coffee machine. All are available in Pure White, Elegant Black, Future Bronze or Style Copper colours. They have a satin/matte finish and I thought that the black looked the best. The designs are striking and would be at the top of my list for a kitchen refresh or to replace an aging item.
One very useful new marketing idea for the Autentica range is that you can now download the Distinta Collection App to your Android or iOS tablet or phone which utilises the camera on your device to virtually place one of the Distinta products in your home so that you can see how the style and colours would match with your kitchen! Follow the two steps here to download the app and print the marker. Once installed, place the printed marker on your counter, start the app and point your camera at the marker!
The style of all of the products is pretty distinctive and there are a few standout features on some. The digital kettle for example comes with a programmable stand which caters for settings such as water temperature (75°, 80°, 85°, 90° or 100°) to ensure that your type of tea is steeped or coffee is brewed at your preferred temperature and a keep warm function to cater for late guests! The kettles have a swivel base for cord-free use.
The milk frother is a new addition which can hold four cups worth and can provide cold frothed milk, hot frothed milk or hot milk.
