Yes yes, it’s a re-review of a café that I only visited a few weeks ago. So sue me. It’s just that good. So I went back. You should too.
Let’s jump right in! Coffees ($3.50) were outstanding once again and use the increasingly popular The Grounds beans. One of my guests would have preferred more than the mere dash of chocolate on her cappuccino but that’s just us being extremely picky at an outstanding establishment.
Fresh fruit smoothies ($6.50) are a bargain and available with strawberry or banana (or mixed). You can taste the fresh fruit in these smoothies, they’re light and fantastic.
Last time, my guest had the French toast ($18.50) without banana. This time the grilled banana arrived in full force and boy look at all of that crispy bacon! This was once again a stunning dish with brioche toast of excellent consistency.
The ultimate bacon & egg roll ($14.50) is normally served on toasted brioche but my guest (who doesn’t fancy brioche) asked for regular bread and BC was happy to oblige! This towering behemoth looks uncontrollable but it’s just the two sandwich halves on top of one another. It was actually constructed very well. Within you’ll find layers of hickory smoked bacon, fried free range eggs, caramelised onion, provolone cheese, house made tomato relish and mayonnaise. I’m drooling simply typing this all out. Heaven in a sandwich.
I ordered the brekky burrito ($18.50) again because I enjoyed it so much the first time. You will too thanks to the chorizo, spicy tomato relish and chipotle mayonnaise! The avocado, arugula and tomato were super fresh; this was everything I could ask for from an excellent breakfast dish.
One poor guest ordered a very healthy dish and was left longing for tastes of the other plates! That’s not to say that hers wasn’t delicious, it was! It was prepared as excellently as any of the others with great flavours… but there’s something about a soft piece of maple-soaked French toast with crispy bacon that makes me crave more! Rosa’s breakfast bruschetta ($14.50) was outstanding though. Organic soy linseed sourdough with well-seasoned smashed avocado, fresh Roma tomato, basil, argugula, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic reduction and a poached free range egg. My guest was very happy with her choice.
